The Grammy-winning artist is preparing for a substantial cinematic presence in 2026, kicking off with the mockumentary titled The Moment.
Within the project, the artist plays what she refers to as a twisted version of her public image.
It’s the most authentic portrayal of the music business that I’ve ever witnessed, the performer remarked.
She further explained in a discussion: This isn’t a concert film, but the idea originated from the pressure to make one.
The debut trailer, released on Thursday, mixes real clips from her recent tour with made-up behind-the-scenes moments.
The Moment is helmed and co-scripted by the director, who explained that the story centers on a scenario where Charli made entirely different choices during the publicity of her hugely successful record Brat.
The mockumentary is only one of numerous future screen roles for Charli, who has starred in three festival films recently.
Furthermore took on her own role in the comedy series Overcompensating.
The coming year will also see the star with Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in art world thriller The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in terror reimagining Faces of Death.
Additionally, she agreed to star in Dakota Johnson’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.
I am really enjoying my cinematic path, the performer expressed. I’m incredibly motivated right now in this area, and I always aim to pursue projects that excite me.
The month of February will also see the debut of Emerald Fennell’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase original songs from the artist.
She is also set to compose the score for the drama Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released next year.
The film is scheduled to debut on the 30th of January.
